Ben Leit (pronounced like "light") is a 23-year-old multi-hyphenate creative and activist, originally from Maplewood, NJ. He graduated from Hamilton College – with a dual concentration in Philosophy & Theatre (Cum Laude, Class of 2022), and the Senior Prize in Theatre. He is also a graduate of The Second City's Comedy Studies program (2021), and Newark Academy (2011-2018).
Ben recently served as a campaign assistant/field organizer for Rob Menendez for Congress (NJ-8). Ben has also worked for Senator Cory Booker – as a United States Senate intern in 2020, and as a campaign intern in 2019 with Cory2020.
Ben is a production assistant for Melchior Productions,
creating live concerts and events in NYC. He has had the privilege to work at Love Rocks, SummerStage, & Radio City Music Hall – for artists such as James Taylor, Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, Nile Rodgers & Chic, John Mayer, and more.
Additionally, Ben works for the wild project – an off-off-broadway performing arts venue in Alphabet City, NYC. He also serves as an Assistant Teaching Artist at Luna Stage in West Orange, NJ.
In tandem, Ben works as an actor and model for television ("The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," "Full Circle"), film (If, Brain Dead), and commercials (the Empire State Building, PENN 1 NYC, Nokia).
He writes, produces, and releases music independently. Ben is a founding member of his creative collective, SWEET TOOTH, and serves as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist.
Aside from all of that: Ben is a fully-formed human being with distinct opinions and hobbies and all that good stuff. He loves to be silly and he loves to have fun. Who can relate, am I right?!. He loves to do a little bit of this, a little bit of that. He likes to be serious every once in a while. But not too often. He also has friends and family (they are great). He wants to make the world a better place.
Thank you for being here.
